The Upper Beaconsfield Village Festival Committee has decided again to make the festival a ‘waste wise event’. This means that we will be encouraging stall holders and participants to recycle, re-use, concentrating on sustainability and our beautiful environment. We ask is on the day of the Festival you use paper products instead of plastics ie: plastic or polystyrene plates, cups, straws etc…
This decision continues to be supported by the Cardinia Shire Council with recycle bins and advertising throughout the festival area. We hope that you can help by supporting our decision. If you have any further queries please don’t hesitate to email: ubvillagefest@gmail.com
Remember when completing application to fill in size of site required.
ENVIRONMENT and SUSTAINABILITY
Stallholders must align with our commitment, council guidelines, and the community’s expectation of a sustainable festival.
✓ Use Approved Materials & Alternatives as specified by the UBVF; this may include but is not limited to food and beverage containers, packaging for goods used, and materials used in producing food and other wares (refer example table below).
✓ Use the correct bins for composting, recycling and waste disposal.
✓ Understand that failure to meet the requirements will result in closure of your stall.
✓ Read the ‘Target Zero Waste’ Initiative and Guidelines, and agree to comply with the Waste Wise requirements of this event, as specified by the UBVF.
**In the event of a code orange ‘extreme’ or code red ‘catastrophic’ fire danger day being declared the Village Festival will NOT BE HELD and will be postponed to a later date.**
